  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000034 to IRIX 5.2.

  15.        This patch to IRIX 5.2 supports all configurations supported
  16.        by IRIX 5.2.

  22.        Patches are not installed by default since it is unknown
  23.        which patches address the problems you have encountered.
  24.        After reading the release notes describing the bugs fixed,
  25.        determine the set of patches which meet your specific needs.
  26.        Patches are installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  27.        product.  Use your Owner's Guide and/or Software
  28.        Installation Guide to bring up the "miniroot" form of the
  29.        software installation tools.  To select a patch for
  30.        installation type:

  32.           Inst> install patchSGxxxxxxx
  33.  
  34.        where "xxxxxxx" is the patch number.  After selecting the
  35.        desired patches for installation, type "go" to initiate the
  36.        installation sequence.

  38.           Inst> go

  40.        After completion of the installation process, type "quit" to
  41.        quit from inst.

  43.           Inst> quit

  45.        You may find that two patches have been marked as
  46.        incompatible.  If this occurs, you must unselect one of the
  47.        patches.

  49.           Inst> keep patchSGxxxxxxx

  51.        Ultimately you may decide after installing a patch that you
  52.        no longer want it.  To remove a patch use "versions remove"
  53.        as you would any other software subsystem.  The removal
  54.        process will reinstate the original version of software
  55.        unless you have purposefully removed the patch history from
  56.        your system.

  86.             (/_u_s_r/_s_b_i_n/_i_n_s_t) that supports patch installations.
  87.             Patch SG0000034 supersedes patch SG0000000 by expanding
  88.             it's installation range covering all of 5.2 version
  89.             numbers.
